Safety couplings for indirect drives

Properties: parallel drive via gear or toothed belt

For overload limitation or as collision protection for indirect drives, JAKOB offers the SKB, SKW and SKG series with integrated ball bearings, as well as the SKX-L series with plain bearings in its standard range. Timing belt pulleys, gears or other attachments with a concentricity or axial runout accuracy of a few hundredths of a millimeter can be attached to the respective coupling flange rings.
In normal operation, the bearings have the task of absorbing the lateral and axial forces and passing them on to the drive or output shaft. Using a conical clamping ring (SKG), a conical clamping bush (SKY) or a clamping ring hub (SKB/SKX-L), the set torque is transmitted from the shaft to the coupling hub with absolutely no play and in a non-positive manner. If a feather key connection between shaft and hub is sufficient, the cost-effective SKW type can be used. While the SKB, SKW and SKY couplings are suitable for normal and large discs and pinions due to the pitch diameter of the fastening threads, the SKX-L series is designed for add-on elements with a large width or small diameter. With the SKG series, extremely compact design solutions are possible thanks to the integrated ball bearing. For this purpose, the coupling body can be almost completely sunk into the turned out pulley and the forces can be introduced almost centrally for storage. Since the clamping ring clamping was arranged on the inside towards the shaft, the SKG coupling is ideal for subsequent assembly or conversion, even in very tight spaces. Other types of safety couplings for indirect drives, such as: B. with separate plain bearings or with release mechanism (SKD series) are available on request.
