CF flanges are the standard for ultra-high vacuum (UHV) applications that place the highest demands on tightness and purity. They achieve their tightness through a high-purity copper sealing ring into which the sharp cutting edge of the flange is pressed when the bolts are tightened. This metallic sealing principle enables a high bake-out temperature of up to 450 °C and an extremely low leakage rate, making them the ideal solution for the most demanding vacuum processes.
